Please join us for our next free Facebook Live Workshop, “Lived Experiences of African-American Dementia Caregivers: Lessons Learned, Rewards and Challenges” 7:00 PM-8:15 PM (Eastern Time) Thursday July 8, 2021. This workshop provides a rare and special opportunity to learn about the real-life experiences of African-American dementia caregivers. Mrs. Barbara Moore, caregiver and Christian educator, will share her faith walk in supporting her husband with dementia. Mrs. Moore also will discuss the caregiving and spiritual practices she uses to enhance the quality of her and her husband’s daily activities. Rev. Leonard Hixon will share his personal experiences serving as a caregiver for his mother. He also will discuss his ministry in advocating for the welfare of persons with dementia residing in nursing facilities. Mrs. Jackie Edwards will provide her unique perspective and lessons learned in her dual role as dementia caregiver for her mother and ACTS2 lay pastoral care facilitator. Current and future caregivers, elder care professionals, and other interested community members are strongly encouraged to join the workshop
