The African-American Alzheimer’s Caregiver Training and Support Project 2 (ACTS2) Announces Its Next Free Facebook Live Event
Please join us for our next free Facebook Live Workshop, “Dementia Caregiving and COVID-19: Moving Forward” 7:00 PM-8:15 PM (Eastern Time) Thursday August 26, 2021. This workshop offers a rare opportunity for frank and open discussion about current scientific developments in preventing and treating COVID-19 and community reservations about vaccination. Dr. Brown Speights will provide practical information about prevention and treatment of COVID-19 and address concerns about these medical interventions. Ms. Frinks, ACTS2 facilitator and former caregiver, will share testimonies she has received from loved ones with dementia, family members and friends regarding the risks and benefits of COVID-19 vaccination. Mrs. Bretz, Director, Area Agency on Aging for North Florida, will discuss easy-to-access vaccination options delivered at home and in the community. Mrs. Norton-Brown will share sensible caregiving and self-care suggestions during the pandemic. She also will highlight opportunities for free skills training, problem-solving consultation, and support for family caregivers of older adults with dementia. After you have registered, we will send you written workshop materials. If you have questions or need additional information, please call toll-free 1-866-778-2724 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Sponsors for this workshop are the African-American Alzheimer’s Caregiver Training and Support Project 2 (ACTS2) and Resources & Education for Aging, Community and Health (REACH).
